Exhibition

Manolo Sierra’s exhibition continues Secret Mill’s exploration of the connections between the physical and metaphysical worlds, resonating with the theme of illusion, exploring and contrasting the world of human creation in the light of recent artificial intelligence creations.

Manolo returns to Secret Mill for a second solo exhibition, with his enigmatic and sometimes disturbing figurative painting. This is a particularly personal exhibiton of never-before-seen, newly created works.

But we have been asked not to explain why.

“uncover, unmask,

I have been thinking for days about the reason for S,

initially it was the S of Sierra, but more specifically the intention of placing myself in front, of observing myself from the outside: that one, that one there,

then the suggestive beauty of the letter and the words that it was generating made not the rest, but a large part: sound, dream, whisper, silence, solitude, being, …

they are words that are part of this work,

for the first time I have projected a group of paintings, and one by one I have been making them,

first it was a sound, then the self as the other and then everything else,

that is why I see that S is like a portal,

I placed the S at the vanishing point, like a link between two circles, I grabbed onto it like a life preserver and in a few months it has generated a varied work, in small format, paintings that speak in a low voice, whispers that suggest a secret,

I still have to understand the meaning of all this”
